FORMER US OLYMPIAN JIM CRAIG SIGNS LICENSING DEAL WITH STREAKER SPORTS

THE NEW YORK CITY-BASED LIFESTYLE BRAND ACQUIRES RIGHTS TO PRODUCE OFFICIALLY LICENSED JIM CRAIG APPAREL

October 24, 2016 – New York, NY - Streaker Sports, a privately-held premium sports lifestyle brand, announced today that they have signed former 1980 US Olympic goaltender Jim Craig to an officially licensed apparel deal. The new collection will launch on streakersports.com later this week.

The deal offered Streaker Sports a compelling opportunity to add another former US Hockey Olympian to their portfolio of licenses, which includes Craig’s former teammate and captain on the 1980 Olympic team, Mike Eruzione. Streaker Sports will produce and sell Jim Craig’s ‘Home’ and ‘Away’ jersey t-shirts modeled after the white and blue jerseys worn during the 1980 Games in Lake Placid where the Americans claimed perhaps the biggest upset in Olympic history by beating the Soviet Union 4-3 on their way to an unlikely gold medal. Streaker Sports also will produce and sell a unique t-shirt based on Jim Craig’s iconic, shamrock-adorned goalie mask.

A native of North Easton, Massachusetts, Jim Craig played a key role in the ‘Miracle on Ice,’ one of the landmark moments in United States sports history. Two days later, he again led the way to a 4-2 victory over Finland, clinching the gold medal for the US. Following the 1980 Olympics, Craig enjoyed a 4-year professional career before retiring in 1984. Jim is now a successful motivational speaker and President of Gold Medal Strategies, a Tampa FL-area based promotions and marketing firm. Over the past 25 years, Jim has provided strategic direction for employees and associates from more than 300 organizations. He was portrayed by actor Eddie Cahill in the 2004 Disney film entitled Miracle.
