The Story

Formed as an expansion franchise into the CBA in 1982, the Albany Patroons originally played in the Washington Avenue Armory. The team later moved to the Times Union Center, then known as the Knickerbocker Arena.

NBA legendary coach Phil Jackson won his first championship ring as a coach when he guided the Patroons to the 1984 CBA championship. The Patroons won a second championship in 1988, this time under head coach Bill Musselman who later coached the Minnesota Timberwolves.

For the 1992–93 season, they were renamed the Capital Region Pontiacs, as the team received sponsorship from local car dealerships. After that season, the franchise was relocated to Connecticut, where it played as the Hartford Hellcats and then as the Connecticut Pride before folding in 2001.

Crafted with the intention of being the softest shirt in your lineup, our signature tees are made with premium airlume (for softness) and ringspun (for durability) cotton combined with poly to make the perfect tee👌 that wears and feels like a well-worn favorite. Our garments are printed with inks that actually blend into the fabric giving it more character and true vintage look with every wash.
