1978 San Diego Sockers Tee
The Story
The San Diego Sockers played at Jack Murphy Stadium from 1978 to 1996 before eventually folding in 1996. Even though the San Diego Sockers were a strong team in the 1981 season, it wasn't enough to keep the gold and blue in San Diego. With players like Laszlo Harsanyi & Gerry Ingram donning the gold and blue in San Diego, the San Diego Sockers should have been able to fill seats. The reality however was much different and with low attendance, the San Diego Sockers soon folded and became no more.
