The Story

The original Komets franchise played in the previous iteration of the International Hockey League from 1952 until 1990. The original IHL franchise then moved to Albany, New York in 1990 as the Albany Choppers. They have won four post-season championship titles in the original IHL in 1963, 1965, 1973 and 1993.
