1967 Oakland Oaks Wordmark TeeRegular price $32.00
Formed in February 1967 as the Oakland Americans, the organization was a charter member of the original ABA - changing its name to the Oaks prior to play that fall. To say the least, the Oaks were a tale of two seasons - going 22–56 in their first year (to date, the second-worst performance of any professional basketball team ever in a major league) to winning the ABA Championship in their second and final season.
Despite winning the ABA championship, the Oaks were a failure at the box office, due in large part to the proximity of the NBA's Warriors. The team was sold and moved to Washington, D.C. for the 1969–70 season.
