The Golden Bay Earthquakes played at Spartan Stadium from 1973 to 1988 before eventually folding in 1988. Even though the Golden Bay Earthquakes were a strong team in the 1980 season, it wasn't enough to keep the red and white in San Jose. With players like Chris Turner & Ken McDonald donning the red and white in San Jose, the Golden Bay Earthquakes should have been able to fill seats. The reality however was much different and with low attendance, the Golden Bay Earthquakes soon folded and became no more.
